Amazing experience! It's a very cozy place and the server, miss Olga is so nice and gentle! It felt like going back home and eating my grandma's food.
The food is delicious! And I ate in so many italian places in Chicago, but this place is my favorite!
Thanks for everything! We will definitely be back! -

Awful service! I literally waited until 3:30 p.m. to call since they open at 3 p.m. First no one picks up. Then I called back and the man that answered tells me WE DON'T OPEN TIL 3 P.M.! So I look at my watch and tell him but it's almost 3:30 p.m. So he laughs and says, oh, I did not look at the time, what do you want?
He then hands the phone to a woman who asks me what I want, I tell her and then ask for something else (which is listed on a lunch menu I found online for the place) and she says I probably have the wrong restaurant because there are a lot of restaurants on the block. Now, I have my business right on the corner of this block so I had to chuckle. I mean, I know exactly where I called and what menu I looked up. But either way, I tell her I don't want the second item and that I just want to place the order for 1 appetizer for pick up. She then tells me, "I think the other restaurants may have what you are looking for, why don't you try them and if they don't have it you can call me back." What a joke!
I told her to cancel my order since it was obvious they do not want any business. I have been very loyal to one restaurant on my street and will continue to be loyal to them. I will not name the restaurant since I do not want them associated with a bad review of LA FONTANELLA.
Never again! -

Recently moved into area and we are trying all the Italian places in area. Came here last Saturday night at 6:30pm and place was empty. Wife and I sat at bar. Bartender was MIA but a guy who might have been a cook got us our drinks. My wifes wine was terrible. Bottle must have been sitting open for some time. Bartender finally came up and gave us 1 menu and then 5 mins later finally brought us a 2nd one. We asked if the pasta was homemade and her response was "some of it is". Ok, would you like to elaborate? Maybe sell the homemade pasta. We ordered the grilled calamari and when it came out it was so cold, flavorless, and it almost tasted like they just microwaved. We took a bite asked for our check and moved onto a different restaurant across the street. Don't think we'll be back here.

Really poor service. The food was just ok but the waitress basically ignored everybody in the restaurant but a couple of apparently frequent clients. I think it's the worst service I've had in Chicago. Really unpleasant experience.

If you are looking for authentic food, look no further than the new and improved La Fontanella restaurant! I have been coming here for more than a decade and every time I do so, I am blown away by how delicious the food is and how great the service is.
Whether it's the chicken parmesan, the aromatic sausage and peppers, the cheesy lasagna, or the tiramisu - you can't go wrong if you're a fan of Italian cuisine.
The owners are amazing people and the waitress Nina is a wonderful human being. I can't thank them enough for their kindness every time I dine there.
Looking forward to my next experience!
